Asian ginseng is a strong tonic for several organ systems. It that has been used for centuries to treat fatigue and poor appetite. 
In Chinese medicine this herb has a warm energy and is especially appropriate for weak, cold individuals who have both qi (energy) deficiency and yang (heat) deficiency. Symptoms of this deficiency  include fatigue, low immunity, a pale face and tongue and feeling cold all the time. It can be beneficial for reducing fatigue and strengthening the immune system.

Because of its warm nature, Asian ginseng is not recommended for individuals with high blood pressure or those with a high metabolism with a tendency to overheat.
