Yin Qiao San (Honeysuckle and Forsythia Powder) is one of the best-known classical Chinese formulas, traditionally used to disperse Wind-Heat at the first signs of a seasonal chill.

Flos Lonicerae Jin Yin Hua
Clears Heat, resolves Fire toxicity and vents and disperses External Wind-Heat.
With Lian Qiao, for various Heat disorders.
Fr. Forsythiae Lian Qiao
Clears Heat, especially in the Upper Jiao, relieves toxicity, reduces abscesses and dissipates clumps.
With Jin Yin Hua, for initial-stage Wind-Heat.
Hb. Menthae Haplocalycis Bo He
Disperses Wind-Heat, cools and clears the head and eyes, vents rashes and benefits the throat.
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao
Moistens the Lungs, resolves Phlegm, stops coughing, clears Heat, relieves Fire toxicity, moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs and guides the herbs to all twelve channels.
Rx. Platycodi Jie Geng
Disperses the Lungs, stops cough, resolves Phlegm and descends Qi.
With Gan Cao, for hoarseness and throat swelling and pain due to Wind-Heat Attacks the Lungs.
Fr. Arctii Niu Bang Zi
Disperses Wind-Heat, benefits the throat, relieves Heat and toxins, and spreads Lung Qi.
With Bo He, for sores due to Wind-Heat, dry throat, cough with yellow sputum, incomplete expression of measles or pruritic rash.
With Jie Geng and Bo He, and Jing Jie, for throat inflammation and productive cough due to Wind-Heat Attacks the Lungs.
With Jin Yin Hua, Bo He, Lian Qiao, and Jie Geng, for Sore throat caused by a febrile disorder or Wind-Heat.

Relieves the exterior.
With Niu Bang Zi and Lian Qiao, for Wind-Heat.
